About Us

We are a family-run Devon farm specialising in the production of quality animals for quality meat. We have various mixed livestock, including Dexter cattle, Lincoln Longwool sheep, Berkshire pigs, Golden Guernsey goats and a variety of Poultry. We are based on the outskirts of Knowstone, near the market town of South Molton. We are easily found as we are right next to the North Devon Link Road (A361), just 20 minutes drive from Junction 27 of the M5. Please do phone us (on 07790 525984) if you are passing, as we welcome visitors and are happy to sell our produce from the "farm gate". However, we would require at least twenty minutes notice as we are not a "Farm Shop" as such, and therefore don't have standard opening hours.

Our philosophy has always been that "Contentment is Flavour", and we rear our livestock in the most environmentally friendly way that we can. All our meat is from grass-fed animals free to roam wherever they desire (within reason!). They are all fed on a diet that is free from antibiotics, artificial hormones or growth promoters. The stock, not being intensively reared, take their time to mature, and this is where the flavour and succulence comes from. All our livestock, on returning from the abattoir, is hung in our cold room, then butchered and packed on the farm. We have been inspected by North Devon Trading Standards, following which we were awarded a Five Gold Star rating for cleanliness and hygiene (Part of the Food Standards Agency's "Scores on the Doors" Scheme).

As a small concern, the animals all benefit from a great deal of individual attention on a regular basis. As such, not only are they content, they are also very friendly (and more than a little bit spoilt!)
